The human pelvis
The two sitting bones in the lower part of the human pelvis are positioned at a 90-degree angle to each other. The thighs can move freely in the sockets. This allows us to sit, stand, and lie down, as well as sit on our heels and cross-legged. Depending on our flexibility and the angle of the seat opening, we may be happy to have some height under our buttocks in the cross-legged position so that our knees and lower legs rest on the floor.
